So, what’s it all like then?
Only a few of life’s questions answered in a really unsatisfactory way.
I’ll explain how I see things in a simple way, because that’s the best way there is. You are free to disagree on everything, but a lot of disagreeing might raise your temper - I write what I believe and what I believe are general truths, at least for me. This might leave you little space for disagreement, but I don’t really care, because for it’s all true. So why disagree?
Religion
This is THE boiling point of human life, being a matter of many disputes and wars. Well, I guess money is behind this one too, but we’ll leave money of out if. Money is money. Ok. Religion. As a case of religion I’ll take christians, probably because my country is kinda christian.
How does it work?
Belief in god helps a man to get out of tough situation, it makes him feel there is an outer force, which sees all and will do right on the world. Thus the god force takes the form of revenge, which is his natural form. One killed a man, one will be judged. And if he’s not judged just then, he will be judged after he dies. Ha, good stuff! This man really does the trick, punishing the bad people. There is a similar method of raising children, the punishment and award method. Ok, i been goed, so i get rewardz when i deadz0r! Ok I’ve been Good, now gimme a chocolate. Same stuff. And why is it done with children? Parents use it to show children what is right and what is wrong, engraving a so called morale in their souls. But when a child grows up, he uses what he learned in today’s world. He knows what was good and what was bad, now he developes theories how can I be good AND make profit or why do I have to be bad theories. So he grew up, used his experience and done something new. Development. Yes, church treats you as a child. Good side: You can depend on God and therefore find confidence in the best listener ever (the one that is not there) and your belief in him can save you some nerves. Bad side: You are a sheep without inovative ideas which are covered by God. You are also simplyfing the world and making it easier for your brain to grasp, which is not a development. I mean, God, why don’t you prove yourself?
Proving god
This is the case of many conversations, all of them being unfinnished. I don’t know about you, but I can’t count on people saying and writing things some dude did 2000 years ago. Things have gone corrupt in a lot less than that. Therefore, I can’t call bible the proof. Bible is just a book christians live by. That’s it. Proving god is a difficult case of proving something that isn’t there. First of all, why must WE prove him? Second, how can we prove him if noone knows where he is at all? It’s like proving nothing. This acts as a nice factor for christians, because noone can prove he is NOT there. They wouldn’t say things like “Have you checked behind Mars?” or “He’s just out of our solar system.” They say things like he’s here, he can hear us and see us, but he’s away somewhere else at the same time. And how do you get there? Only god knows. I mean how can he be HERE and THERE and stuff like that? Simple. He is where the people are, where their minds are. He is where you believe him to be. And that’s all there is, a belief. You can only prove you believe in god, but I can prove I believe in pink-assed nightelves with uncanny x-ray vision. Where are they? They show up when I’m alone. Gg. Also, meeting god when you die is kinda out of context.
Death
It is a normal natural process. It is a cessation of living for certain was-just-living being and denying it’s existence.
Where do I go when I die?
You don’t go anywhere, you stupid stupid man. Well, ok, depends on what you mean by “I”. In physical context, you stay where you were. In psychological meaning you disappear. You don’t go anywhere, you just stop being. You don’t go away. There just isn’t a “you” anymore. That’s what people find hard to imagine. Well… it takes a lot of practice but you can imagine it. Open your mind ffs.
There was once suggestion that there might be an obvoius connection between physical and psychological. It was based on 21 grams that you lose when you die. Some say that’s your soul. Hah, I sure hope MY soul is more than 21 grams. To clarify: the loss of wait is probably the effect of deactivating the nervous system when all the electrons and protons and neutrons and ions and all that stuff buzzes off. We could experiment by inserting posion that affects only the nervous system, not stopping heart until few minutes later, but we’d need a volunteer. Anyone?
What is it like then, being dead>
Many believe this is the hardest thing of all for a human being to imagine. It might just be impossible, but noone can say for sure, because our brains are still not fully used. People who can imagine big things (aka. geniuses) are almost always target of psychological diseases, preferably because brains need to adapt to changes and remove brainblocks slowly. It might be that we will be able to imagine the scene after death, but when that happens, we’ll be so high-leet you can’t imagine. Let’s give it a try, though.
Ok. You’re standing somewhere. Let’s say it’s on a hill with a view of a nice village below. Blue sky, birds, all that crap. Now one second you’re watching to village, the next second you’re dead. Your body disappears. Village disappears. All animals disappear. All trees disappear. You’re standing on a bare hill with grass and sky around. Earth disappears. Sky disappears. Satelites disappear. You’re standing in space with stars around it. All planets and stars disappear, every moving object disappears. Complete blackness around you. Now… the blackness disappears. This is necessary, for blackness is merely an abscence of light and we’re looking for more like.. abscence of life. The problem introjects itself. What is behind blackness, what then? Whiteness? No way. Nothing. The fact is, you can’t see anything. You’re just gone, face it.
And, no, there is no such thing as reincarnation. Your soul is a complex function of your imaginary part of your brains, in fact one of the things that separate us from animals. And when you die, it decays. Saying that the molecules of the brain will suffice for a flower in 100 years - it is possible, but what are only molecules? Ah, but you can build souls. Or at least develop them. Go on then, reproduce!
Is that all then, ends just like that?
Well yeah, we are just creatures, air-based, food for energy and stuff like that. Questions like “What is our meaning?” tend to anger me, because, wtf, are you human or not? You have brains, make yourself a meaning! There is no outer meaning! We evolved and here we are. We know something about nature but not even nearly enough to answer “So what is it all about?” questions. Ah well, we are curious creatures so I don’t blame us.
~LockPick

Alright! Where to start. Lots of stuff to reply to. Lets see if i can write everything down before its to late and i shall sleep
Lockpick have come up with some quite nice subjects to discuss, which we have touched in some longer chats earlier. But im not a guy who skips a argument if one is close by
Ok Religion first:
I agree with religion have started lots of negative things, like wars. Its a shame it have happened, but its not Gods will. Humans are corrupted and easily persuaded and tempted to do things if they just gain something from it (like money which u actually preferred to skip even if it is, as i see it, the main factor to all evil in our world). But well..
U say God is a evil (revenge which is a bad feeling/act) being. But i must ask u how u can say he should be that. I guess u base it on the common thought why should earth otherwise be such horrible place to live at. But u say:
One killed a man, one will be judged. And if he’s not judged just then, he will be judged after he dies.
Shouldnt it be like that then? God doesnt keep in mind thru that mans whole life that he have made something stupid or evil. All humans have sins which might be smaller or bigger and those who prays for forgiveness will get it also when he dies. As i see it is that not an evil act.
Now i guess u say that he makes us sinners from our birth, that he is evil cause of that. The reason is we humans made it this way, not God. In the Garden of Eden when Adam and Ewe lived did the humans (symbolised here when Ewe got tricked by the snake to eat the apple and then gave it to Ewe) go against God and cause of that did they lose their ability and immortality. And God kicked us out from the Paradise with all the negative and evil feelings and thoughts which we now possess.
Lets skip to next topic, Proving God.
A topic which u seems to be pissed at
God are not to be proved just cause if he could, then should he be something and something cant be flawless or perfect as God is. God DO exist but not in a materialistic form here on earth. Here is he everywhere. He is sitting right next to me right now. He is in the flowers and plants in my apartment. He is in the forest and all animals on earth. But he is not visible to the eye. But not where I want him to be as u write. He is everywhere all the time no matter what.
[…] but I can’t count on people saying and writing things some dude did 2000 years ago. Things have gone corrupt in a lot less than that.
.
The beliefs arent/shouldn’t be based on what church says, or what the priests says, but what God says, what Jesus says. If u listen to what God have said thru time, to u at the moment and what Jesus taught, then is it enuff. The bible is probably changed a lot to favour the humans just as we’ve done everything else to gain profit by it, even if they have tried to narrow it down to very little flaws in it. It’s a long time since I last read the bible to be honest and im a bit ashamed of that, but im living what I know God and Jesus said about how to live. And I hope that’s enuff in the end
Ah well.. we go forward to Death just cause im kinda flurry right now :p
To clarify: the loss of wait is probably the effect of deactivating the nervous system when all the electrons and protons and neutrons and ions and all that stuff buzzes off.
U doesn’t sound that sure about this. Its “‘probably’ the effect…” I don’t know enuff chemistry about this, but why should the atoms just leave the humans? And where should they go in such case? Cause they wont just float around and they wont disappear just cause they don’t do such things.
When I die then will I come to heaven I hope. My body will be left on earth and the soul goes to God as the bible say: “the dust returns to the earth from where it came and the soul returns again to God who created it” (freely translated from Swedish).
Ah well. This is taking to long hehe. I just final up with a few words on Meaning of life.
Depending on what angle u take on it can u find a few meanings of ur life. If u see to Darwin’s evolution theory then is the one and only reason u live to reproduce the humans. That’s the only reason we live for seen in such perspective.
If u see thru the Christians perspective, then is it to live for God, try to live as he once created us.
But if u skip both of those then is it much harder. Like a philosophical perspective is kinda impossible to find a meaning to our lives. But if I take away my Christian believes, then do I not want a meaning I think. Aint it just hard to know the meaning and maybe not be able to live up to it? Or to know the meaning and see that its just stupid, to easy or so. Are we not better off without one and maybe make up one each who suits u, which u can strive to reach. And when u do, increase it again.
I could easily continued like 2-3 pages more, but this was supposed to be a comment, not a book, so I stop here and now. Hope it was clear enuff and understandable. I blame that im tired if u don’t understand :p
